How can I buy tickets to visit?
You have two options: buy online on our website https://esplugaturisme.cat/reserves/ or at the reception.
We recommend buying your tickets online to ensure availability.
What does the ticket include?
Entry to the cave includes a 1 hour and 15 minute guided tour inside the cavity.
Is there any type of discount?
Yes, we offer discounts for people over 65, large families or single parents, people with a disability card, youth card holders, UOC students, hostel guests, and RACC MasterCard holders. There is also a special rate for groups of 25 people or more.
Do children have special prices?
Yes, children under 5 enter for free and children from 5 to 14 years old have a reduced price.
How many people are considered a group?
A group is considered to be 25 people or more.
If we are a school, a group or a travel agency, what do we need to make the visit?
You can request information and make a reservation by email at turisme@esplugadefrancolí.cat or by phone at (+34) 977 87 12 20.
Do teachers have free entry?
No, only if accompanying a school group.
Do family workshops include the guided tour of the caves?
No. They are complementary activities.
THE VISIT
How long is the guided tour of the cave?
Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Is it possible to visit individually?
No, visits are always guided.
In what languages are the visits available?
All visits are normally in Catalan. On weekends, public holidays and during holiday periods, some visits are in Spanish. Check the reservations section for available times in Spanish.
We also offer a free audio guide in Spanish, English, French, Russian, and Dutch, which you can request at reception.
What happens in case of rain?
Rain does not affect the visits. You will be able to enjoy the visit as normal.
Does the guided tour of the cave feel claustrophobic?
No, it is a very large cavity and does not give that sensation.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of people per group?
There is no minimum. The maximum for regular visits is 30 people, although for private groups it can be extended.
Is it necessary to wear special shoes or clothing for the visit?
No special clothing is required. The visit takes place along a 500 m path where some areas can be slightly slippery due to humidity. We recommend comfortable shoes and a jacket, as the temperature inside is constant at 15–16°C.
What is the temperature inside the cave?
The temperature is constant at 15–16°C all year round. A jacket is recommended.
Are there stairs inside the cave?
No, the route is completely flat.
Can people with reduced mobility or health problems do the visit?
The route is accessible for manual wheelchairs, although in some sections assistance from a companion may be needed. The shop and reception are fully accessible and have adapted toilets.
Can the visit be done with a baby stroller?
Yes.
Are animals allowed?
No. The only exception is guide dogs for blind visitors.
Can photos be taken during the visit?
Yes, but please do not interrupt the guide, block other visitors or separate from the group.
ADVENTURE ROUTE
Does the adventure route include the guided tour of the caves?
Yes, the price includes the speleology route and the guided tour of the museum area. When booking the route, you must choose the day and time for the guided tour, which must take place within the same week.
How long is the adventure route?
About 3 hours in total, with 1.5 hours inside the cavity.
Is the adventure route complicated?
No, although there is a short section where you must crouch or kneel. Afterwards, the underground river area is spacious again.
How deep is the water on the adventure route?
Normally between 1 m and 1.5 m, depending on rainfall.
What is the water temperature?
About 10–12°C.
What does the price of the adventure route include?
The caving route accompanied by two professional speleologist guides, a neoprene suit, boots, helmet, and light. It also includes the guided tour of the museum area.
Are there showers, changing rooms and lockers on the adventure route?
Yes.
Is the adventure route recommended for people with claustrophobia?
No.
If we are not six people, can we make a reservation for the adventure route?

Do you have different sizes of neoprene wetsuits available?
Yes, we have wetsuits in different sizes, and the activity is accessible for all body types. When booking, we will ask for your height and weight.
From what age can you do the adventure route?
From 7 years old. For schools and high schools, from 12 years old.
What should we bring for the adventure route?
You will need a swimsuit to wear under the wetsuit, sports shoes that can get wet and muddy, and toiletries for showering afterwards.

I have not received the reservation in my email. What can I do?
First, check your spam folder. If you have not received it, contact us by email at or by phone at (+34) 977 87 12 20.
My payments are repeatedly rejected. Why can’t I buy tickets?
This is usually due to an error in the authentication process by your credit or debit card issuer to prevent fraud. Unfortunately, we have no control over this process.

Is it necessary to print the reservation?
No, you can show it on your mobile device at reception. There you will receive your ticket for the visit.
I bought a ticket on the website. Do I have to go through the ticket office?
Yes, you must go to reception to collect your ticket for the visit. We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
Can I buy the adventure route and family workshops online?
Yes, but you must first book by email at or by phone at (+34) 977 87 12 20 so we can confirm your registration.
What is the policy on changes and refunds?
If you notify us at least 24 hours in advance (72 hours for the adventure route) by email or phone, we will refund the full amount to the card used for payment.

Is there parking?
Yes, we have a large, free parking area for cars and buses.
Are there lockers?
No, but if you have luggage or large items you cannot leave in your accommodation or vehicle, please ask our staff.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept card payments for tickets and shop purchases.
Is there a bar or restaurant service in Les Coves?
No, there is only a water vending machine.
