A deposit of bronze objects
In 1957, as soon as the entrance to the Font Major Cave was opened, a set of bronze objects consisting of a total of six pieces was documented: a dagger, a curb axe, a small sword, fragments of weapon blades and two finely worked flat-headed needles. It is worth noting the uniqueness of the needles, which find most of their parallels in Savoy and the French Jura, possibly of foreign origin (France), in contexts datable to the 9th-8th centuries BC. The grouped presence of this set of elements and their intentional deposition in a small space located only 50 meters from the entrance of the Font Major cave, most probably indicates the existence of a votive or ritual deposit, which can be interpreted as a cenotaph or postmortem offering.
