Prehistoric Workshop
In another cave very close to the caves of l’Espluga, the Cueva del Castell, is where the students can carry out a Prehistoric Workshop.
The first activity begins right in the vestibule of this cave, taking advantage of a cave in the rock, with the construction of a small hut with animal skins and sticks of trees to see how it protects from the cold in winter and the heat in summer.
Inside the Cova del Castell, the students will continue the workshop with the manipulation of hunting tools used by men and women of the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods. They will go to the bottom of this cave, or discover a funerary dolmen and understand the culture of life and death of these beings.
Finally, the students will practice the techniques of cave painting. Based on inspiring images, each student will make a painting on a stone slab that he or she will take home with him or her.
The duration of the Prehistoric Workshop is 1.30 hours and is aimed at students in kindergarten and primary school.

The temperature in the caves is the same throughout the year: between 14 and 17 degrees. In spring/summer it is advisable to bring a jacket.
